From the get-go, there was nothing worth saving.
And most people know that their lives are pretty crappy.
But what can you do as an individual if your reality is that you have few collective (or institutional) ties and no means to purchase influence? NOTHING. So you that’s what you end up doing, willy-nilly.
Doing NOTHING is not necessarily acceptance of the way things are; but maybe and rather, it is the acceptance of your actual impotence in your circumstances, born of a realistic appraisal of your range of influence.
Doing NOTHING then becomes a form of radical protest, a form of direct action.
If enough people do NOTHING, maybe the system implodes.
Maybe the system first has to implode before something can be put in its place, before anyone can even begin to do anything.
Maybe. Or maybe not.
But the system is definitely imploding. I think that’s reason enough to be hopeful. Because if it wasn’t imploding, then the situation would truly be hopeless.
Do NOTHING! Let it all fall apart of its own accord!
Only then might life once again become possible . . .

Tubularsock agrees but once one realizes the score then it is the task to “awaken” others to that that is obvious to yourself.
The first step is to “expose” the obvious and push for change with whatever you have at your disposal.
The real enemy is lethargy and complacency.
The work of truth is never done and one has to do whatever one is called to do in order to move the ball up field regardless of the odds.
Advancement has occurred no matter how hopeless it appears and sometimes the only way to resist is not to comply and not to cooperate with the situation.
Tubularsock has found that violent resistance more often than not hinders advancement where guerrilla activities moves the agenda.
One can not go up against an army or a police force but the actions of just one person NOT in a hurry can do extensive damage over a period of time. The Viet Cong is a perfect example.
Of course all this hinges on the depth of the changes one wishes to implement and whether the principles of changes rest on violent or non-violent means.
We are in an interesting turning point in our history and the total insanity that these two clowns are the best “leadership” this country can offer makes Tubularsock look forward to the cliff’s edge.
But unlike Thelma and Louise, Tubularsock is not driving over it!

Tube: The FAT LADY may not have sung yet, but the FAT MAN has danced! As Trump did at a recent rally. It was not a pretty sight! Four more years of Trump may not only ruin the nation but the practice of dancing may be in danger as well.

Nice work, Tubularsock. The political system is broken; in the USA, as everywhere else. But Trump isn’t the problem, he’s just a symptom of it. The other lot are just as bad – aren’t they? It’s the divide between the establishment and the people – the honest, naturally productive people – that is the problem. As you say, the game is rigged. Against us. How to change that?

Tubularsock learned way back in the Viet Nam war and all the subsequent wars of control that the American population bought into without seeing the obvious writing on the wall that the thought police were at work. Unless one controls the mass media there is little hope of any change.
As a population, even the educated ones, have all been trained like Pavlofv’s Dogs to salivate on key words: COMMUNISM, SOCIALISM, TERRORISM, 9/11 and so on.
This is so engrained in the population that they tend to sleep through all of it.
That is why Old Joe is perfect because the public can go back to sleep and let nice old father do what he knows best.
If the Dump wins then the public will have to be constantly reminded that things AREN’T SAFE because father is a complete nut!
But much of all this won’t matter anyway.
We as a civilization all seem to hear the whistle and see the puffy white smoke while we stand in the middle of the tracks as the climate change train comes barreling right at us.
And you know what your parents warned you about standing on the RR tracks. “Watch your caboose”
