The Despairing Child is a 20″ x 24″ oil on canvas painted sometime in the 1980’s. This painting is of a troubled child. Why did I chose this subject? We are in the middle of Holy Week and unfortunately, suffering is part of life. This is to call to mind the suffering of others, especially the children.

This was a great reminder of the children who suffer in this world due to lack of food, warmth of clothing and a place to lay their sleepy heads. ❤

So very true reocochran. And very sad as well. And it is more sad to Tubularsock that our country is doing its best to keep that sad state of affairs continuing rather than stopping all the wars that we start! Thanks for the comment.
