DEATH OF THE ANGUISHING EGO

(Note: This Tubularsock post is based upon a series of coversations Tubularsock became involved recently. Yes, wine was severed. Tubularsock’s three bottles were very good”.)

” ‘I’ Die Hard!” These were the words with which the late spiritual teacher Joel Goldsmith  (1892-1964) described the “death’ of the ego structure in a human being—in ALL human beings.

I don’t think that Donald Trump is physically dying or necessarily physically ill (I have no idea), but certainly something has changed drastically in him—if nothing else to point to, his swagger-and-blistering attack- rallies are not happening in the way they once were.

His swagger-and-bluster energy is clearly not in the forefront as it was.

My feeling is that when Trump encountered  Vladimir Putin in the Alaska meeting over Trump’s promise to “end  the war in Ukraine”, when he met with Xi Jinping in last month’s lauded “summit”, and when he met with the REALITY of  the Iranians and Iran in the recent war, he encountered a  level of opponent where his (Trump’s) root-less ego tricks of “I can charm anyone”, “Money is what runs everyone, doesn’t it?” and his total lack of any cultural awareness knocked him on his rear and off of his foundationless pedestal.

Because these “opponents” don’t play the same games he plays and aren’t run by the same ultimate values (money and appearances) that Trump is.

In other words, they have something more than simply money and personal-aggrandizement that upholds and fuels  them.

I think Trump found himself in “the Big Leagues” with players  who have something else going on other than simply money, acquisition-for-acquisitions-sake, and desire for personal grandiosity.  Opponents who “play hard ball” and a broader vision for their countries.

(I recall Tucker Carlson’s (and I LOVE Tucker, don’t get me wrong!) interview with Putin in which Putin spun Tucker for hours on the details of Russian history and culture.  Breath-taking!  Humbling!)

Trump left the Alaska meeting with Putin (to end the war in Ukraine) with no result, lunch-less, tail-between-the-legs.

He  left his meeting with  Xi Jinping with nothing but a token couple of auto-orders, tail-between-the legs.

And he has given  up the fight with Iran, with its centuries-old pride-of-culture, its religion-that-matters-to-it, and its shockingly (to America) effective and full-blown defense and retaliation military capabilities.

Trump has left the war he started,  humiliated before the eyes of the world, having gained nothing, lost much,  having wasted and destroyed countless persons and properties.

Trump has demonstrated the utter HOLLOWNESS of his  “power”, which is without a foundation, only a flapping-in-the-breeze ego attempting to play with the Big Boys who are neither fooled by his antics,  nor charmed by them, nor daunted by his “pseudo-power”.

The “Trump-Show”  didn’t work!
“The Trump Show”  isn’t working!
Not in the Big Leagues.

Trump can try to bluster and talk and proclaim and call “Victories”, but he KNOWS— like we all know, when the ego gets crushed and WE can’t hide from it.

The ego “dies hard”!

  1. I note that Israel has temporarily stopped bombing Iran following confirmation of the MOU signing date. My analysis is that Trump is so unpredictable that Netanyahu can’t be sure Trump won’t cut all economic and military funding to Israel – without which the state of Israel will collapse. Anyone who can stop Israel genociding people can’t be all bad.

    Hi, Tubular! Long time…

Firstly, agree with the above: anyone who can stop Israel from genociding can’t be all bad. Very true. IF Trump can a rat’s ass about that, which he doesn’t. It’s just the position he’s been forced into after all the idiotic decisions he’s made have backfired terribly.

Second, why do you think NOW his ego is taking an existential beating? Hasn’t he had myriad meetings with these heads of state and country before already but come away as stubborn and dismissive and downright contemptuous as ever? Why now is there a difference, do you think? All having to do with oil and $$ and all the rich folk who are pissed at him right now?
