Well you may not had noticed that Pope Francis died on Easter Monday after The Pope had a meeting with JD Vance.
Need Tubularsock say more?
Oh sure.
A few days before Pope Francis had written a major rebuke of the Trump administration’s plans for mass deportations of migrants, warning that “ . . . the forceful removal of people purely because of their illegal status deprives them of their inherent dignity and
will end badly.”
On Easter Sunday Pope Francis met briefly with Vance. A rather short “meet and greet” before the Pope tended to Easter duties. Which included a “. . . surprise ride in his popemobile, drawing wild cheers and applause”.
As for Vance, he moved on to a visit to India where he was ask about his meeting with the Pope and said “. . . I was happy to see him yesterday, though he was obviously very ill ”.
Vance himself had converted to Catholicism in 2019 which for Tubularsock just shows that the Catholics will take anyone!
As for the Pope’s death in the proximity with meeting with JD, well you’ll have to be the judge for yourself but rest assured, “the devil is in the details” !

Did he take one of Bridge Colby’s grandpa’s poison dart guns with him? 😉 https://archive.ph/2023.04.05-191157/https://www.nytimes.com/1975/09/17/archives/colby-describes-cia-poison-work-he-tells-senate-panel-of-secret.html

Tubularsock was beyond sure that you’d know the SECRET!
Yes, you hit the dart gun on the mark! You got the “point”!
Thanks for your comment.

Tube, I remain confused sbout the timing. Pope Francis died Monday, according to media, after a stroke and a coma. I had read the Pope had refused to see Vance, but Biden, a lifelong Catholic, had seen the pope shortly before he died. Whatever. Pope Francis was a good Christian and Catholic, from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He did a lot of good in his 88 years. Bless him.

KO, yes, Pope Francis was one of the most outstanding Popes in history. He was an outstanding example of love and compassion and being REAL!
Tubularsock’s understanding of the media goes like this: JD’s visit to meet Pope Francis and discuss international events was passed on to Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin because Pope Francis was not up to discussing foreign affairs.
However Pope Francis made a very short amount of time available for JD. An “official” meet and greet before the activities of Easter Sunday. Francis died Monday morning.
As for Biden, Tubularsock doesn’t know how that all took place but vaguely recall that that meeting with Biden was a week earlier. But not sure on that.
Thanks for your thoughts and information.
Hope all is good with you.
Cheers, Tube

Thanks for the extra info, Tube. Pope Francis must have been very tired, but he was compassionate to the end. He even blessed JD Vance by acknowledging him. His mind was on immaterial things, I believe.

It wasn’t JD Vance who killed the Pope, Tube, it was Elon Musk sticking pins in a Pope Francis doll.

Well Tube — I would call it poppetgate or voodoogate or since it was the Dirty Old Greedy Elmo who so obviously caused this catastrophe maybe we should call it elmogate or muskagate.

In general, THEM running our government tend to do that well!

I knew it! lol Not really laughing. Not really funny. I actually kinda liked that pope, ’cause he was from the Jesuits, who are mavericks and actually seem to care about people. Re: powerful people offing others, though…maybe if Trump keeps saying stuff about Russia and the war that make a certain murderous dictator angry…well, I’D certainly be careful drinking MY tea for the rest of my life…lol But hope lives.

Tubularsock agree about the Jesuits. They have always been pro-people and open to possibilities.
As for “tea”, we can always hope. Amen.
Thanks for you insights SB. And keep low in the trenches.
