LET’S TRY HISTORY!

Well now wouldn’t you know. While Tubularsock was sitting in his top floor corner office in his underground bunker overlooking Washington, D.C. from Oakland, CA (see Bunker Tour) Tubularsock heard a rap on the door and went to see who the visitor happened to be.

And as luck would have it it was the beginning of “drinking hour” at the Bunker, 8:30 am.

A very long time female friend came for a visit with a question on her mind.

And the question was a simple one, “Did WE really WIN the Revolutionary War?”

Now Tubularsock does have an opinion about this subject and he expressed it.

At the very heart of the question is a question, “Who is the WE that you speak?”

Her response was, “WE the American People, US.!”

Tubularsock took the bottle of Wild Turkey Single Barrel out and poured us each a double shot neat and set the bottle on the desk for ready access knowing that this was going to take some time.

Lucky for you, Tubularsock is going to condense this information as he cracks the nut shell open. Because the truth is way bigger than the nutty fairy tale that so many Americans basically believe as true. BUT IT’S NOT!

Here we go.

The best way to proceed is by asking who really gained from the Revolutionary War? Or any war for that matter.

Well the bankers, the land owners, the land speculators (Washington and Franklin fall into this category), the owners of the manufacturing base, the owners of the transportation system mostly shipping at that time.

Who didn’t gain! Indians, slaves, women, workers, indentured servants and anyone who did not own land.

So ……. just who are “The American People?”

We have been taught that America is a “classless” society. Horse shit, never was true …. ever!

We do have class mobility, unlike many other countries, but the class system is entrenched in the culture but because of some mobility it is believed we are classless. Best example that you may recognize is that between “old-money” and “new-money” and all that goes with that elitist thought pattern. (Just for a reference point, Tubularsock has for years held up the no money class. In fact, not even a down payment!)

From the beginning, unless you were a property owner you could not vote. If you did not have property you were considered not to be a stakeholder in the community and hence had no right to vote.

Women were bared from voting even when they gained property after the death of a husband. But an interesting side note, they did have the right to own slaves that they “inherited”. An odd “classless” state of affairs, indeed!

And remember the reason for the electoral college was a “check” on the possible “corruption” or “take over” by the populous.

But more importantly even with citizens having the right to vote the vote was and is meaningless.
And the reason for that is that the vote is controlled from the top down.

The elite that control the Democrats and the Republican Parties choose the choices and are limited by those established party elites.

The debates are controlled by a Democrat-Republican corporation who make the rules for expressing ideas by determining who can debate!

And so the THIRD CHOICE is not to vote which in itself is a vote against not having a choice other than the CONTROLLED CHOICE. In 2016 40% voters voted not to vote!

And on top of that the NEWS/MEDIA ACCESS is controlled so anyone outside the elite choices have NO VOICE.

So in truth …….. YOUR VOTE DOES COUNT only IF YOU ACCEPT WHAT IS PICKED FOR YOU! (no, this is not the definition of democracy) And you may want to consider how this arranged voting system differs from any other dictatorial system of voting.

You see, YOU JUST HAVE BEEN MADE TO BELIEVE YOU HAVE A CHOICE.

REALLY ……….. TAKE A LOOK AT IT!

“YOUR PATRIOTIC DUTY OF NATIONAL DEFENSE”, Horse shit but there is a “rule” change. And that change is simple ……… you as a citizen are responsible to defend the homeland with the lives of your children EVEN IF YOU DON’T OWN LAND!

And the best insight into who “won” the American Revolutionary War against England comes from Howard Zinn:

 

“And so when you look at the American Revolution, you have to look at it in terms of class.

Do you know that there were mutinies in the American Revolutionary Army by the privates against the officers? The officers were getting fine clothes and good food and high pay and the privates had no shoes and bad clothes and they weren’t getting paid. They mutinied. Thousands of them. So many in the Pennsylvania line that George Washington got worried, so he made compromises with them. But later when there was a smaller mutiny in the New Jersey line, not with thousands but with hundreds, Washington said execute the leaders, and they were executed by fellow mutineers on the order of their officers.”

Over two thirds of the “citizens” of the American Colonies DIDN’T WANT TO GO TO WAR WITH ENGLAND. And yet, we did. Anything familiar feeling in that?

There is so much of this shit that is passed over in the teaching of American history not only in the schools but throughout the entire system. The general American History Textbook is TOTAL FANTASY and American Historians still, to this day, pump out the same “patriotic narrative” ad nauseam !
AND THAT …………….. IS THE REAL AMERICAN DREAM!

So, Wild Turkey gone my friend left with her answer and then Tubularsock had forgotten to tell her one last bit of American History. Benjamin Franklin had wanted to have the national bird not to be the eagle but the WILD TURKEY. Seems fitting to Tubularsock.
