Well for Tubularsock it has come down to this.
Tubularsock has attempted words BUT how about FEELINGS?
And rather than express those feelings let Tubularsock use the
candidate’s own expressions in this race to the bottom to show exactly
how Tubularsock feels about both of them.
And for that matter ……… Tubularsock’s FEELINGS with the nation as a whole.
Yep, this is as optimistic as Tubularsock gets under this current delirium of despair.
Tubularsock has just finished Tubularsock’s third Molotov Cocktail …….
Yummm, so good.
Damn! Now where did Tubularsock put those matches?

—And the nation lacks good cheer…
—While Uncle Joe has taken on his foe…
—Trump has packed the court…
—To eliminate Roe…
—The Nation is divided…
— By the hate Trump’s provided…
—Our population numbers are thinning…
—As Covid 19 keeps on winning…
—Half the nation thinks it’s Trump’s fault…
—The other half reveres him like a cult…
—The Retrumplican Party wants so badly to win…
—They’ll commit any variety of election cheat sin…
—Whoever wins on election night…
—Whoever emerges victorious from this bitter fight…
—They inherit a nation…
—Engulfed in partisan inflammation…
—Once we had a Civil War…
—That pitted brother against brother…
—And we hoped sincerely we would never have another..
—But now poised to engage in voting, a pillar of democracy…
—We may instead experience bitterness, violence and hypocrisy…
—We may declare a winner on election night…
—But our fragile democracy is in for a perilous fight…
—The nation stands on the edge of a precipice…
—Will we move forward with hope ?…
—Or plunge into the abyss?…

Batt, you have summed it up all rather well but when Tubularsock looks over this society we live in, “plunge into the abyss” doesn’t look all that bad!
So you have inspired Tubularsock to provide a different poetic view for your consideration.
Democracy has never been better
Just Tammany Hall has been unfettered
The American elite have never been smarter
Seeing that voting is just another barter
The citizen looks on with all due amazement
Still not aware that they been assigned to the basement
And don’t you worry not one little bit
“Our” election system has NEVER been legit
And Tubularsock will sit on the rubble
Watching the entire end come to a crumble
And not a lament will part from these lips
When the voices start pondering why this has all flipped
But there is no surprise here that unfettered greed
Will bring down a system in an uncontrolled speed
The loss of democracy that we all lament
Was never a part of this government!
And Tammany Hall stands as corrupt as ever
To pick up the pieces and corrupt them together
And you little citizen will all have a role
To pay all your taxes to keep the rich on the dole.
