Wow, another 9/11 and the U.S. is still droning any and everybody.
You know: FOR FREEDOM!
The best story out of Afghanistan which sums up U.S. foreign policy happened the day after suicide car bombers blew up over 160 Afghans and 13 American soldiers outside the Kabul Airport.
The BUYDONE response was to drone a suspected group the day after and just happened to blow to bits a family of 10 mostly children and the father who was not only supportive of the U.S. but had obtained papers from the U.S. to come to the U.S. with his family. oops.
THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT AMERICAN POLICY HAS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT.
Use people, then discard them.
Don’t think so?
Look at our history in Latin America, Africa, Asia and EVEN in North America.
One thing we can say for sure,
WE ARE NOT A NOBLE PEOPLE!
I’m loathe to agree, but I gotta. Loathe because I’ve gotten a lot out of living here and won’t and can’t deny that. But the US’s sins are deep and the hypocrisy is blinding. I guess the thing is there’s other places that are worse, right? And people might say, “Yeah, go move there if you hate it here so much.” But I don’t hate it here. I just hate the grandstanding.

SB, Tubularsock is totally with you on this. And those who say go someplace else if you don’t like it here ARE the problem!
Improvement comes from recognition that there is a problem and then improving the country not leaving it! Seems simple.
And who would be silly enough to leave a country with cultural icons like McDonald’s and Home Depot?
The Mona Lisa doesn’t hold a candle to Ronald McDonald. Don’t you think?
Grateful for your prospective and stay safe in these covid times.

Yeah, and don’t forget Universal Citywalk!
But there’s also Catch 22 and The Jungle and Invisible Man and blood banks, vaccines for anthrax, rabies, cholera, typhoid fever, the plague, TB, yellow fever, polio, measles, mumps, rickets, tetanus.
Nothing for cancer yet, because obviously the treatments make more money for corporate America than a cure.
But we also have Georgia O’Keefe, the Wright Brothers, Maya Lin, W.E.B. DuBois, all the Black inventors I mentioned in a blog once whom we never learn about in school, Larry Krasner, and The Innocence Project.
I know a lot of these wonderful things are in reaction to the various hypocrisies and stupendous imbalances that exist in this country…but we have a lot of creative thinkers, philanthropy, inventions that have helped the world, and it’s not all bad!

Nice photo of the “talking heads”. I see they’re wearing masks, did they get their vaccine shots? Oh, maybe the vaccine doesn’t work. All that money going to “big pharma”….and it doesn’t work?

Well Leslie, they are wearing masks because that is just what highway-robbers do!
Thanks for your view once again.

Tube, it’s really simple – AMERICANS are people, real human beings and thousands perished in 9/11. the millions the U.S has murdered in iraq and afganistan are not people, not human. they were just in the way of our agenda. why were we in afganistan in the first fucking place. more power to taliban for finally running us out !

Dearing, you are so correct. Why didn’t Tubularsock see that “people” business you have pointed out so well.
How silly of Tubularsock!
But if you didn’t know, we hit Afghanistan first because we always start killing alphabetically.
That’s why we’re in Yemen now backing Saudi Arabia.
Thanks for your insight on this key discovery.

Good post. I particularly enjoyed your spelling of “noble,” unless you meant “nobble?”

I thought there was a subtle message in the creative spelling, Tube. I’m a strong believer in creative license.
