The Associated Press called the claim that the US was involved in the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipeline as “baseless conspiracy theory” that was being pushed by the Kremlin and Russian state media.
And the Associated Press is not a “state owned” propaganda arm of the United States?
Remember the AP was created in 1846, by five New York newspapers to “share the cost of covering the Mexican-American War” ……. guess which side they were on?
Times haven’t changed that much. Trust Tubularsock on that!
Secretary of State Antony Blinken DIDN’T EVEN BLINK when he stated at his last news conference that the sabotage of the Nord Stream Pipeline provides “a tremendous opportunity” to end Europe’s dependency on Russian energy. (CHEEP ENERGY, may Tubularsock add!)
Well all this is just great for the liquefied natural gas scumbag producers in the U.S. but not so good for the huge number of Europeans freezing their asses off this winter.
The one thing that capitalists do well is to ALWAYS hold profit over people.
It is what they are made of and they “like it”!
It is also what they call a “tremendous strategic opportunity for the years to come.” Just another form of “the pandemic!”
As Vlad said, “Sanctions are not enough for Anglo-Saxons. They have turned to sabotage, it’s unbelievable, but true, having organized explosions on the international gas pipelines of the Nord Stream.”
It seems that it isn’t difficult for American citizens to not believe “the enemy” when most of the time it is “the enemy” that are telling the truth.
But that is merely built in delusion on the Americans’ citizen part.
You remember the “make-believe Gulf of Tonkin attack” which was used to get us involved in our on going war in Vietnam.
Or the 20 year war with Afghanistan because they wouldn’t give up bin Laden who was supposed to be “hiding in the hills” in some underground bunker.
Or the “weapons of mass destruction” that Saddam had hidden in his back pocket!
Many in the U.S. at least believed these lies because the U.S. “leaders” said they were true.
THAT ALONE SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO NEVER BELIEVE THE U.S. ABOUT ANYTHING!
Tubularsock is putting his money behind Vlad!
The problem is that liquified natural gas won’t solve the EU’s energy problems without massive US government subsidies. At the current price of natural gas, fracking, which is extremely capital intensive and doesn’t even break even. German companies are more likely to shift operations to Turkey, China, Japan or Korea where they can enjoy both cheap Russian natural gas and low labor costs.

Dr.B, Tubularsock does have to agree with you here. But it seems that we will gladly subsidize the EU but can’t ever see our way clear to assist the homeless in this country.
Some things seldom change.

I think you may be on to something…It hadn’t even crossed my mind that our government was involved in this, but now, I can see it happening.

Julydase, it is a historical FACT that the U.S. has NEVER been an innocent bystander!
Trust Tubularsock on that! Thanks for your thoughts.

Are any powerful countries innocent bystanders? Seems to me, that in one form or another, they’re always meddling where they shouldn’t.

Julydase, you are absolutely correct and Tubularsock agrees.
The issue for Tubularsock is that when it is “our” country Tubularsock would like to see a closer alignment with what we preach!
OR just shut the fuck up!
We run this democracy shit and how we promote it yet we ourselves DON’T HAVE ONE!
