Now let Tubularsock go way out on a limb here only because Tubularsock always likes to be closest to the new leaves.

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the only American soldier held prisoner in Afghanistan, was freed by the Taliban.

The deal was simple: Five Tortured Afghan detainees from the U.S. torture-prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, for One not-tortured American soldier. Cool!

Now, the limb part, is Tubularsock is making a big assumption here. And that assumption is that the Taliban DIDN’T torture Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is still under a cloud from his departure from the ranks back in 2009 because the circumstances surrounding Bergdahl’s capture remain something of a mystery.

Some have speculated that he willingly walked away from his unit but Tubularsock has one of those Tubularsock hunches that the Sargent was lit on a combination of alcohol and Afghan Gold and just found himself captured ……… bummer.

Tubehuka

Now Tubularsock can hear you doubters, asking how would Tubularsock KNOW the obvious. Come now, really? Let us see ………

But the bigger the bull-shit the less likely we’ll ever know and here it comes from the Commander-in-Chief himself ………. Bergdahl’s recovery “. . . is a reminder of America’s unwavering commitment to leave no man or woman in uniform behind on the battlefield.”

Aren’t we so fucking noble!

It could be that on that Memorial Day visit Odroner made to Afghanistan to outline the direction his administration will be taking in that war that they just needed one more solider to be withdrawn from the forever battle and so they worked out this deal because they thought 22,200 withdrawn troops looked better from a PR perspective than 22,199.

And it’s not the 9,800 troops that are going to stay there that you should be looking at anyway. They aren’t worth shit.

What you should be looking at is the number of mercenaries/contractors that will be remaining. Most American still don’t understand that removing troops does not reduce exposure and death to the Afghan people. That’s if the American public cares about that anyway. Using contractors to supply or enhance weapons is not unusual. But expeditionary warfare, stabilization and reconstruction operations, and intelligence services are tasks that most Americans believe are the sole job of the government or the military. It’s not. It’s all about privatization and profit. NOT ending the conflict.

That is why it doesn’t matter how many Taliban and remnants of al-Qaida are killed. There are ALWAYS more. And in many cases we supply THEM with weapons and training as well. Constant war requires it!

In fact according to a report by the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan (SIGAR), an auditing agency created by Congress to provide oversight on government spending in Afghanistan between 2002 and 2013, almost 70% of the 4 billion dollars spent by the State Department for “rule-of-law” projects, like training and equipping the Afghan police force went to one corporation …. Dyncorp.

Dyncorp is known for it’s well-documented history of corruption investigations and subpar performance and yet the governments contracts flow in regardless of the fact that in 2010 the inspector general for Iraq  along with the State Department found that Dyncorp could not account for $1 billion spent training the Iraqi police force.

Oh well, business is business.

Now the exchange deal went down in Qatar. The same little country where we are currently “training” fighters to over throw Syria. Sweet.

But this wasn’t the first time the U.S. dealt with the Taliban on this exchange. In 2011 a deal was being worked out but in early 2012 Sen. Diane Feinstein made the negotiations public because in Congress, there was bipartisan opposition to any release of Guantanamo prisoners.

This all changed because of a small change in the Fiscal Year 2014 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which passed last December, made it only a requirement that the Defense Secretary notify Congress when releasing Guantanamo prisoners.

Before that change, Congressional sign off on any Guantanamo releases would have been needed but they gave up that power either knowingly or not. Depending on which of the Congressional members actually read what they were passing.

But now they can bitch but say they are powerless!

Now the Five Tortured Afghan detainees from the U.S. torture-prison at Guantanamo are, of course, “the worst of the worst” and are Taliban commanders. The deal requires that they can not leave Qatar for a year after their release. Tubularsock feels better all ready.

And the great thing …….. none of them hold a grudge or anything, right?

Tubularsock has been extremely busy recently. It’s spring! And every spring Tubularsock takes time away from blogging to wash and clean all of his underground bunker windows.

Starting from where Tubularsock sits in his top floor corner office overlooking Washington, D.C. from Oakland, CA all the way down to the underground-ground-floor.

Needless to say it’s a large task.

But the world moves on. Regretfully I’ve seen this film before.

Somehow in “freedom” loving America we are getting a distorted view of the EVIL RUSSIAN …….. see, I told you it’s an old movie.

Now Tubularsock just wants to clear up a little something for you just to save time.

This Ukraine-Mess was created by the United States, PERIOD.

All-that-that-stems-from-that is the U.S. attempting to BLAME Russia.

U.S. imperialism marches on and the American public is fed shit news from the likes of the New York Times giving up “journalism” to become a mouth piece for another government war, AGAIN!

Now wouldn’t you think that after Michael Gordon and Judith Miller’s false Iraq War propaganda that the Times’ editors would pay a little more attention to the crap being presented on the Ukraine?

Especially this latest bit of bull shit that Michael Gordon has been involved in over the photo proof that Russian “special forces” are involved in stirring up trouble in the Ukraine …….. like the U.S. “special forces” aren’t involved.

The Times’ has had to backtrack from Gordan’s story on covert Russian activities because the photographs proving the thrust of the story were brought into question.

Yes, Tubularsock was just as surprised as you over this entire matter.

You see the photos showed a “person of interest” with a long beard and a military patch on his camouflage shirt. Like an undercover special forces solider would wear a military identification tag right on his shirt. And a camouflage shirt at that! No really, check this out.

Screen Shot 2014-04-25 at 2.33.05 PM

Well. Not to be overshadowed by the NEW YORK TIMES’ mis-information Tubularsock took it upon himself to track this “undercover” military special forces fellow down and took this photo which Tubularsock feels PROVES BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT who may have planted this guy in the Ukraine.

NOW HERE IS THE TEST: WHICH OF THESE GUYS ARE SPIES?

NOW HERE IS THE TEST:
WHICH OF THESE GUYS ARE SPIES?

The CIA has this manual that was published in 1985 under William Casey (a true little prick) titled “Indications of Political Instability in Key Countries”.

In this manual the CIA states that “. . . demonstrations are successful destabilizing influences when they gradually increase in size and intensity, spread to other cities, increase in the number of days they take place, and when government repression of the demonstrations escalates”.

And this is exactly what the CIA is up to. Hence, the bearded guy standing out in the crowd to PROVE it’s the Russians that are stirring up the trouble.

The CIA has also been prime movers in the control of the media ……. especially that media that feeds information to the U.S. and Europe.  In Kiev and western Ukraine, the media was rallied to support the demonstrations against the Viktor Yanukovych government. But when it comes to the pro-Russian demonstrations in eastern and southern Ukraine, the Western media has been urged to be critical or out right neglectful of that coverage.

But this is what the CIA does. Destabilize populations so the U.S. can control them.

A good example of this destabilization tactic has recently been exposed with the ZunZuneo scandal, the so-called Cuban Twitter.

ZunZuneo is the name given to a social networking platform that was largely a replica of Twitter, set up in 2010 by the United States Agency for International Development and contractors hired by the agency. The purpose was to build a base of unsuspecting Cuban users, and then introduce rumors and misinformation to destabilize the country’s socialist government.

The USAID is ostensibly a humanitarian aid organization but the rest of the world knows that they are chuck full of CIA and U.S. Military agents. Many NGO’s are used to carry out political operations and distribute money to opponents of any government that resists U.S. imperialism.

And if all that isn’t bad enough we can always call in contractors from private security companies to handle the necessary murder that has to take place and to train people to be terrorists much like we did in Syria. Remember we paid to have private contractors train al Qaeda. Just how counter-productive do you want to be UNTIL you realize that as long as destabilization takes place the U.S. keeps control.

Also a little side note:

Do you recall that at least three of the 911 hijackers were trained by the United States military within the United States?

And that the CIA helped to train and arm bin Laden and the boys.

It’s called blow-back when we train a group and they later turn on us ……. it happens all the time.

Is it counter-productive?

Or is it the REAL PLAN?

As long as the American public are destabilized by fear/protection they will be controlled.

THINK ON THAT BROTHERS AND SISTERS!

Tube Africa Report heading

Oh sure, Tubularsock was just sitting in his top floor corner office in his underground bunker over looking Washington, D.C. from Oakland, CA in a sea of tranquility from the aroma of his flowering hydroponic marijuana plantation. Few realize how much space happens to be underground and especially while overlooking Washington, D.C.

But enough about reality.

Have you ever noticed that AFRICA never gets into the news in the United States. Ok, maybe “never” is an overstatement but so little that it has earned its title as the “DARK CONTINENT” all over again.

Now for those of you who missed the history of the “Dark Continent” when you were not engaged in your early historical studies, here’s a hint.

The name “Dark Continent” was not given to Africa because of the color of the people living there, but because of the mystery that surrounded the place back when the Europeans visited there. And this holds true today.

Don’t think so? Ok, name ten African nations that exist right now ………..

Now we do get the news when the genocides happen or terrorist activities because that is a significant part of the accepted narrative. And the U.S. and Europe want to take those who are doing the genocides and terrorist activities and put them on trial as long as the U.S. and Europeans aren’t tried for the genocides and terrorists activities they create.

It has always been that way. And the U.S. and Europe doesn’t want to place any responsibility for these slaughters on those who sell the guns, rockets, and tanks to the crazy bastards that use them on their people. Primely the U.S., England, France, Israel, Russia and China do the gun running.

But it is most interesting but not at all that surprising to discover that there is and has been for some time a huge amount of corporate positioning in the entire continent.

You see, Africa has a shit load of natural resources that “we” want to “assist” them in removing them from their possession. What a surprise.

And on top of that …….. gosh, speaking of slave labor, and no worker safety or environmental regulations, well the place is awash with corporate capitalism at its best!

So here are some fun facts ……….

Tubularsock can’t report on Africa without sitting down with a bowl of Chinese noodles and some rice wine and list how much China is involved in the extraction movement in the  “Dark Continent”.

tubechina

The Chinese seem to have a stack of cash they have picked up from the war torn American Government and are investing heavily in East Africa’s recently uncovered stores of mineral resources.

Of course they have to compete with the Brazilian, Japanese, Indian, Irish, and Anglo-Australian investors. Gosh, everyone seems to love Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia.

According to the Wall Street Journal – ChinaRealTime once extraction projects are in full swing in 2020 the mineral wealth could be between $17-$24 billion a year.

But like all mineral wealth the damn stuff is under the fucking ground so the Chinese are prepared with the cash to partner up with the likes of Tullow Oil Plc. which is leading exploration activities in Uganda.

In Kenya the government awarded China’s Fenxi Mining Group development rights for coal reserves which will help Kenyan cement and steel industries to create the very same unbreathable air that the Chinese have developed so well in Beijing!

And then there are roads to be built and holes to be dug and train tracks to be laid and ports to be constructed all without those silly environmental considerations that slow progress down. Because we all know that humans are not responsible for climate change because there is nothing that we do that affect the world we live in except improve the GNP!

As you are well aware as jobs are created and the asphalt is spread the workers will need to be provided with 60” HDTV’s and iPhones and who can do that better than Walmart!

tube walmart

From the venture capitalist point of view,  Africa is seen as the major investment frontier because of its young population, untapped resources and economic instability.

Now WALMART’s push for a foothold in Africa came a few years ago when it bought controlling interest in Massmart in South Africa and is currently pushing into Kenya. That attempt hit a hurdle after Kenyan retailer Naivas said it was no longer selling a controlling stake to the US company’s South African subsidiary, Massmart.

Naivas chairman Simon Mukuha had said in August they were looking to sell a majority stake, 50% plus one share, to Massmart, to bring in fresh blood and ideas.

“We are fattening our cow. As and when we are ready we will do that (sell) but as it is now we are not,” Gilbert Mwangi, the administration manager at Naivas, said. “They (talks with Massmart) are off. We are not selling now.”

Massmart CEO Grant Pattison, . . . said the company was still keen on entering Kenya.

“We are not rethinking our investment decision in Kenya. We are still looking for a partner . . .”. Massmart runs 29 stores in 11 African countries outside South Africa that contribute about 8% of its total sales.

A Massmart and Naivas deal could have fallen victim to the tightness of the market in the region. “Smaller supermarket chains are in such high demand that they would ask for a horrendous price.”

Now with all this Wall Street Journal gibberish you may have noticed there was NOT ONE reference to people. That is significant, in fact very significant. NOT ONE PERSON is considered! It’s all “. . . failed to keep up . . .”, “. . . still opening . . .”, “. . . 8% of its total sales . . .”, and “. . . major investment frontier . . .” !

In there lies the crux of the entire Capitalistic System and it’s eventual downfall from implosion!

One can only disregard PEOPLE so long and then the extreme shift takes place. Don’t think so ……. Tubularsock knows it’s true … proof is in the pudding. Just wait.

But even as Walmart worms it’s way into Africa that doesn’t change the fact that Robert Mugabe turned 90 and Zimbabwe spent about $1m on the celebration. And what better way to spend all that money than with releasing 90 balloons. Wow. Costly balloons.

Tube Mugaba Birthday

Mugabe has been in power since 1980 and still can whip out an hour long speech with vigor. Holding his fist in the air he proclaimed that Zimbabweans didn’t hate the British, who were their colonial masters, but loved their own country more. Sounds like bull shit to Tubularsock.

In contrast, Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi nationalized the oil industries and attempted to create a United States of Africa. With his image of a revolutionary, Col Gaddafi inspired South Africans to fight for their liberation, funding and arming the anti-apartheid movement as it fought white minority rule.

Funny how Libya just happened to have a civil war and Gaddafi found himself dead ………… maybe balloons are the way to go!

Which brings Tubularsock to the role of the United States in Africa.

And what is that role?

Destabilization!

Now in order to counter the Chinese and other nations from moving in on Africa’s natural resources The United States rushes in to “PROMOTE DEMOCRACY”.

The United States has long maintained influence and indirect control in Africa through financial institutions such as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and African Development Bank. These financial institutions are the tools the U.S. keeps Africa in debt.

Over the last decade, America has quietly expanded its military presence throughout Africa. And the main tool of this conquest ……… AFRICOM!

Now this goes back to Baby-Bush’s Reign of Error period. As Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Theresa Whelan stated in 2007,

“AFRICOM is about helping Africans build greater capacity to assure their own security.”

But in truth Vice-Admiral Robert Moeller, in 2008 stated that AFRICOM’s goal was “protecting the free flow of natural resources from Africa to the global market.”

And in 2010, Moeller wrote  “Let there be no mistake. AFRICOM’s job is to protect American lives and promote American interests.”

A good example of American interests is the US-sponsored break up of Sudan and the creation of South Sudan.

With the oilfields being located primarily in the south of the country, the US led the charge to dismantle Sudan and create a South Sudan that would be dependent on US finance and military muscle for its very survival.

The United States has attempted to destabilize Zimbabwe throughout the last decade, going so far as to impose crippling sanctions and attempt regime change in order to block China’s influence.

And all this is well represented in the perfect news allegory out of Ghana.

Now, Tubularsock does admit that his own habit of following news out of Ghana is sketchy at best but how could he not report to you this top news story from GNA (Ghana News Agency).

It was reported that Two lovers got stuck during sex in Sunyani.

Now granted, it wasn’t a big news day in Ghana.

“A man and a woman who were having sex in a guest house in Sunyani were reported to have got stuck on Wednesday when the man could not remove his penis from the woman’s vagina and that it took the timely intervention of the police to whisk the inseparable lovers from the scene.”

An attendant at the guest house said that the two lovers booked the room for 30 minutes but when their time elapsed, they failed to come out.

He said he knocked at the door but heard some unusual sound from the room and informed some traders in the market.

“When we forced the door open we saw the unexpected as the two lovers were lying  on the floor in torment,” the attendant said.

When the Ghana News Agency got to the scene at 2:30pm, activities at the market had halted and people had gathered at the guest house.

The police moved in, put the two inseparable lovers in a vehicle and drove them away.

Some of the market women said the woman was a trader from Berekum who sells soap every market day. But the man seemed to have been not from this area due to his hair style.

tubesex

Some of them suspected that a curse might have been placed either on the man or the woman and said rituals had to be performed before they could be separated. Seems reasonable to Tubularsock when asked on his return flight from Ghana.

But there is a clear message in this story. Tubularsock sees that whenever the United States gets involved in “protecting it’s interests” it just doesn’t know “when to pull out”!

Yes, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq are all good examples of GETTING IT STUCK!

And it will be the same outcome in Africa, I’m afraid.

But the U.S. destabilization work isn’t the only gang-bang taking place in Africa to thwart  the Chinese.

France and Japan have agreed to cooperate on military and economic issues as was stated by Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida when he said in Paris recently, “The agreement will open up a new dimension for our cooperation on security and defense.”

Which means that these current France-Japan talks focused largely on a stepped-up imperialist intervention in Africa. Japan pledged to support ongoing French wars in two former French colonies, Mali and the Central African Republic.

Well it’s good to have friends.

And the beautiful thing about the military build up in Japan is how it is explained ………

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe calls it “proactive pacifism”. Now what could possibly go wrong with THAT?

But let’s not forget Great Britain and her African adventures. And they are many but the one Tubularsock is most fascinated with is the ARMS-SALES INSURANCE SCAM.

This is priceless.

The English Government in the last fifteen months have shipped 44,000 guns to East Africa. And like any good government agency the House of Commons Arms Export Controls Committee admitted that the government’s Business Department which “approves” these massive weapons exports stated that in order for this river of arms to keep flowing it, “. . . did not thoroughly assess where the weapons were going”.

Some of these guns happened to end up into the hands of the “rebel” fighters in Libya and Syria but that isn’t the fun part ………… many of these weapons have ended up into the hands of Somalian pirates.

Now hold it ……… that’s still isn’t the fun part.

Here’s the fun part …… “Who benefits from Somalian piracy in the Gulf of Aden? According to a study conducted by the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW), insurance companies have seen a windfall in profits from the Somali pirate attacks, with insurance premiums sharply increasing.

And the English Government is providing arms to the Somalian Pirates?

Another oddity here reported in Forbes Magazine in 2010 is that if one was willing to buy from Willis Group Holdings plc. their highest insurance package per voyage ($35K) somehow, you would completely avoided being targeted by Somali pirates.

Funny how shit works, isn’t it.

But the Somalian Pirates are just the diversion. So when you are looking for which nut shell the Pirates are under in the shell game the British Government has funnel £2.2m into the UN’s Office on Drugs and Crime’s, “counter-piracy program”, in Somalia to help fund the reinforcement police and maritime forces which will defend British interests in the region.

Now Tubularsock just can’t help from noticing that the terms “counter-piracy program”, “counter-insurgency program” and “the war on terror” all seem to sound alike. Hmmm ……… Could there be something going on here?

hqdefault

It may be as simple as all these governments use the same Public Relations firm in London …… what do you think?

So how does Tubularsock see the future of Africa?

EASY!

TUBEPENTA HEADING

So let Tubularsock hear this again. The government is “shut down”? Well I will bet anyone, that if tonight you go into Georgetown and try and get into the bars or restaurants you’d have hell to pay to get in!

And somebody shot at the Capitol Thursday afternoon and IT WAS THE Capitol Cops and the FBI and god only knows who else that rushed to the rescue guns a-blazing. They were able to bring down an unarmed mentally unstable black woman. Wow. But we are all “safe”! And the big news is that those cops weren’t being paid to kill people because of the shut down. Boy, Tubularsock is impressed. Killing for free, NOW THAT IS DEAD-A-CATION.

And just this morning I saw three army helicopters fly over on their daily “commute” run so the generals don’t have to sit in traffic.

And I haven’t heard that the 5th Fleet have packed up their Tomahawk Missiles and boogied home.

And the CIA is still ramping up their covert training program in Syria.

The military-operated  Arlington National Cemetery will remain open but the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, known as WIC, which provides food to 8.9 million low-income women and children, will be out of money.

military graves

And Tubularsock thinks that making sure that dead military people at Arlington are taken care of but NOT assisting women, infants, and children with food is exactly America’s priorities. You know the ol’ destroy the village in order to save them concept!

And of course, The Federal Reserve is a self-funded agency and so will remain operational. You remember they print their own money. How convenient. In fact that might be the way we could fund the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children. Nah …….. too easy.

But rest assured Congress still get their pay checks on time, but their staffs don’t get paid.

And Obummer will still be banking his paycheck too.

“That’s the way you do it, money for nothin’ and the chicks for free . . .” (Dire Straits)

However what is unfortunate is what Morgan Stanley’s analytical team came up with while discussing the potential cost of the shutdown. Just because Congress says they have shut down the government, ALL THE COST FOR RUNNING THE GOVERNMENT REMAIN COSTING THE GOVERNMENT (That’s us by the way.)

In fact, to the tune of 1.6 billion dollars A WEEK! You do understand that all the government debt interest still has to be paid to the banks. Would somebody explain this to the Congress of the United States.

But Tubularsock isn’t scared. Because we have “QUANTITATIVE EASING”. I am so relaxed.

Tube lite Tom Heading

Tomahawk Cash

YOU might not have noticed but while Tubularsock was overseeing his vast stock portfolio he noticed a very interesting development.

tube invest copy

Obomber speaks of attacking Syria and RAYTHEON’s stock goes up reaching a 52-week high at $81.26 per share.

Now for you hoi polloi ,your ability to grasp this development, more than likely, passed over your heads but for Tubularsock and the capitalist class this was great news.

Tubularsock cashed in buying low and selling high. Using this new found wealth to invest in body-bag sales. There is going to be a killing to be made in this market, yes pun intended.

LET ME EXPLAIN IN SIMPLE TERMS:

Obomber announces attacking Syria.

RAYTHEON’s stock jumps up.

Tomahawk Missiles are made by RAYTHEON.

A Tomahawk Missile cost $1,000,000.00 each.

Once they blow up you need another one.

More than 2,000 have be fired in combat over the years.

Once they blow up you need another one.

Most American warships are equipped with 90 of them.

Once they blow up you need another one.

There are four U.S. warships set to fire these missiles at Syria.

Once they blow up you need another one.

There is BIG profit to me made by RAYTHEON here.

WHY?

ONCE THEY BLOW UP YOU NEED ANOTHER ONE!

But there’s more.

The Pentagon buys 196 Tomahawk missiles a year. That is what is considered the “minimum sustaining rate” but after firing hundreds of them on Libya in 2011, well gosh we have had to ramp up production.

Now accounting for the extra orders, RAYTHEON delivered 252 missiles this fiscal year and 361 last fiscal year. But one can’t have enough because Tubularsock has read some place that “once you blow them up you need another one”.

“In its budget submission for fiscal 2013, the White House requested 196 Tomahawks, for a total program cost of $320 million. It’s requesting the same amount next fiscal year, for a cost of $325 million. The increase in price, defense watchers say, is the result of several factors: inflation, rising fuel costs and a shrinking supply chain.”  (Austin Wright, Politico)

But when you factor in the “total program cost” a Tomahawk Missile costs $1,658,163.26. Think about that …..

every time the Navy presses a button ……..

BOOM $1,658,163.26 goes up …… and we need another one.

A Tomahawk Missile has “advanced contour mapping” so they can fly low and avoid ground radar. They have a range of up to 1,300 nautical miles. They travel at more than 500 miles an hour. And they can hover over their targets for hours providing a real-time view of the battlefield.

They deliver a 1,000 pound warhead that can devastate half an urban block and can hit a target the size of a home’s window.

THEY HAVE AN 85% DIRECT HIT RATE.

Are you impressed yet?

Well Tubularsock has come up with a couple of thoughts here.

Ahhh ……… 15% of the time they don’t have a direct hit so how many urban blocks are wiped out by hitting the WRONG home’s window?

tubeblowcamera

I guess it’s not much. You know how ALL urban blocks look pretty much the same.

But to be fair Raytheon was not the only defense contractor who saw their stock price go up during the buildup for a potential strike. Boeing, General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin — all missile system manufacturers — all saw sharp gains.

And can you believe that those homeless people Tubularsock has to set over ever time I walk down a city block have the nerve to ask for money to eat! The nerve of some people!

tube heading Syian treaty

Chillin’ On Syria

Wow! Have you looked over the new “agreement” between the U.S., Russia, and Syria? Well, “agreement” or is a “treaty”. Nah. Really kind of like an “understanding”.

Ok. Hands up, how many have read the “document” about putting Syria’s chemical weapons under International Control and destroying those weapons.

Well, Tubularsock was just floating through the political cosmos and started thinking.

Just how could John Kerry and Sergei Lavrov (you remember Russia our forever enemy) shake hands and agree on how Syria is going to give up their EVIL chemical weapons?

But just what has to happen?

Oh my, What has to happen, indeed.

Now Syria has a shit load of chemical weapons and chemicals in general that are called “duel use” chemicals. You know. Those chemicals that can be used to save OR destroy people, among other things.

Fun side note: Remember Reagan was responsible for selling “duel use” chemicals to Saddam INSANE. That was durning the time that Donald Rumsfeld was kissing Saddam’s ass.

Who would sell an INSANE man “duel use” chemicals and not expect him not to use them on the Kurds? Well who can think of that when you are in the Agricultural Department and there are profits to be made for the Chemical Industry.? After-all, they are part of “protecting American interests” don’t you know.

Shame about those gassed men, women, and children of the Kurds.

Remember which way the American Government looked when the Kurds were gassed?

Oh yeah, we were backing Saddam INSANE against IRAN!

That is not the time to give much thought to the Kurds, now is it.

My ……… how Tubularsock digresses ……..

Well in the overview, things look well ……… I guess it all has to do with what you remember about signing something and doing something.

Now don’t get Tubularsock wrong …….. signing rather than bombing any day BUT …..

I’m really not sure if Kerry and Lavrov, kind of, remembered that Syria was in the middle of a civil war. You know what I mean. They both arrived in limos to a huge marbled interior building in Geneva and both stayed in ….. well not Motel 8. And you know how “intensive talks” can go on for three days.

And then with dinners and drinks with separate entourages. Well you can imagine the stress.

SO LET’S TALK CHEMICAL ………

Well it’s being hyped as “ . . . the most challenging undertakings in the history of arms control”.

“Excuse me, but could I have an order of escargot as an appetizer?”

Now the chemical weapons have to be secured. Currently the storage facilities are being guarded (in theory) by Assad’s troops.

So first issue …….. who is going to put “boots on the ground” and secure these sites?

AND who is going to pay for that?

Second issue ……… who’s “boots on the ground” will Assad accept to enter his country with guns and be trusted to do only their job of guarding the facilities.

And the third issue …….. who’s “boots on the ground” once accepted will want to come into Syria and guard the chemical weapons? With both the “extremist groups” and elements within the Assad government that don’t want to give up control willingly interested in getting their hands on the weapons ….. well this isn’t going to be a cake walk for the “boots on the ground”?

“Oh yes, another bottle of that wonderful Romanée Conti, please.”

Well let’s say we have that worked out in theory. Maybe a U.N. force or the Russians?

And who are going to protect the inspector? …………. and who are going to trust the inspectors?  ………….. and who are going to pay the inspectors?

Questions, questions, questions.

Now, the logistics of disposal.

This is extremely dangerous to pull off and who will accept to receive these weapons for disposal and who is going to pay for this process?

The destruction of these weapons will take YEARS and the chances of either human error or attack of the storage areas or during transport are very high.

And according to Harlan Ullman, a senior adviser to the Atlantic Council, “ . . . many bureaucracies will be engaged including the national security councils of the United States and Russia, the United Nations, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and among others the Syrian government. Hence, delays and administrative obstacles could be huge.” AN UNDERSTATEMENT TO SAY THE LEAST.

This disposal is going to cost into the hundreds of billions of dollars. Get your check books ready!

The German’s private sector has extensive experience in chemical weapons disposal and may be called on to handle this major task. That is still up in the air.

But remember the Obomber’s use of force is still in play and if there are delays and lack of progress this county may blow Syria apart.

Fortunately, Geneva isn’t down wind from those exploding chemical sites.

Sergei: “We may want to review our agreement during ski season next time, John.”

John: “Splendid idea, Sergei. I may be able to hold Barack off for a bit.”

THE LIE IN THE “TRUTH”: OBOMBER ON SYRIA

You know, Tubularsock wasn’t going to bother listening to Obomber’s speech Tuesday night because when it comes to Black Jive I prefer public transportation.

But I found myself tuning in to NPR radio for coverage because I am interested in Presidential-Spin no matter what party is running it. And I wasn’t disappointed.

Two things:

  1. The next time Congress wants to cut NPR’s governmental funding ……. I vote YES!

The commentators are in the BIG SLEEP and are piss poor at political coverage with any insight ………. they are very good at status quo! Depressing. Are they affiliated with FOX NEWS now? I guess it is no surprise, Tubularsock wants to go to the White House Press Corps Dinner too! Gosh, with a black tie and a suit prancing around! Could it get any better than that as a “journalist”?

       2.  There was not ONE, count them ………. NOT ONE point of PROOF that the Assad Government was the one that used Chemical Weapons. Not even a little one. No, Obomber assumed that Assad was guilty without a shred of evidence provided and NO ONE QUESTIONED HIS PREMISE. Even those that were against the action accepted the premise. Disgusting!

Yes, and children frothing at the mouth and the EXCEPTIONALISM of Americans with the ol’ God Bless America conclusion and Tubularsock almost got out his flag to wave next 4th of July with bombs bursting in air.

But the only way that Tubularsock can express this fallacious argument that Obomber is pushing is by this example and maybe those who themselves are in the deep sleep will get just a glimmer of understanding of the Obomber Logic of lie-in-the-”truth”. And perhaps better understand how this entire position was created. So Tubularsock will attempt this Herculean feat with a little allegory.

THE STORY: (all names have been changed to protect the innocent)

Let’s say that Barbrick Insomnia started to have suspicions that Michshella (his wife) was cheating on him. So he asks John Fury to follow Michshella and substantiates what Barbrick KNOWS is happening.

John Fury follows Michshella and she goes to MAIN STREET. Nothing seems to be out of the ordinary and he reports back to Barbrick.

Barbrick Insomnia KNOWS that John Fury must be incorrect and tells him to check again. And follow up on this sighting of Michshella on MAIN STREET.

Barbrick then calls his good friend at the N_A (redacted) General Fumbleson and asks him to checkout MAIN STREET and report back to him.

Within minutes of Barbrick’s call to General Fumbleson of the N_A (redacted) and not just minutes AFTER Barbrick hung up the phone BUT just minutes BEFORE he dialed the phone the N_A (redacted) knew the nature of the incoming call and had prepared a full dossier on MAIN STREET.

John Fury returns to Barbrick’s office and reports that once again Michshella was seen on MAIN STREET and there was nothing out of the ordinary that occurred.

Barbrick was so furious that John Fury was taken aback.

The phone rings, not the RED phone but the RED, WHITE, and BLUE phone, and Barbrick knew that the N_A (redacted) was calling with the “known-knowns”!

Note: This following information was given to Tubularsock by a “highly placed government official in the Administration, who is just Biden his time, and is not authorized to speak to the press on this issue.

General Fumbleson from the N_A (redacted) reported that “a foreign person of interest” by the name of ISSAID was on MAIN STREET exactly the same time that Michshella was on MAIN STREET.

It was further disclosed that even though ISSAID was on EAST MAIN STREET and Michshella was on WEST MAIN STREET the link of MAIN STREET indicates that all the signs are present that Michshella and ISSAID were having an affair.

Barbrick was convinced but John Fury felt that as an adviser he must ask at least one probing question. Which was, “Is there concrete proof? Proof beyond a shadow of a doubt?”

General Fumbleson of the N_A (redacted), now on encrypted speaker phone answered,

“Ghrgte fbfgru gkdjdhey nbh jghdtsiwoy kgghff fhdjur!”

Note: Tubularsock has gotten from a well placed N_A (redacted) official that is not authorized to speak to the press on this issue but can verify that this top secret speaker phone encrypted answer is totally the proof needed and can not be told to the public in order to protect them. A relief, for Tubularsock to be told the TRUTH.

Barbrick and John both nodded their collective heads in the affirmative.

Both men agreed that action at this time may not be optimum politically due to the fact that it may look bad for Barbrick Insomnia to expose Michshella while she was in the middle of the Saving-American-Children-From-Being-Fat Campaign.

“In due time”, Barbrick said aloud as he lit his cigarette. “In due time”, echoed John Fury.

TO BE CONTINUED ………..

So remember: There was not ONE point of PROOF that the Assad Government was the one that used Chemical Weapons. Not even a little one.  Obomber ASSUMED that Assad was guilty without a shred of evidence provided and NO ONE QUESTIONED HIS PREMISE.

A premise without facts to prove it correct is called A GUESS. And to push A GUESS as the truth is a LIE. How many people do you feel should die for a lie?
